Wow-wee what can i say about us black people? I was walking down sistrunk blvd which is one of many hoods in the Ft. Lauderdale area and it was sad to see that we as black americans not giving a damn about us. Is it all about image. The image of dirty kids running around, the image of folks driving up and down the streets on 24 inch rims, but no money to feed themselves or pay their rent. Parents sittin out on the porch not giving a damn. Fathers in jail, for hustling on the street corner. The thug image. Baggy jeans, the hat tilt to the side, the jersey, and the timbs. This is masculine, this is the image that is protray to society. How much longer can we as black americans live in the ghetto and not come up. Can we live the rest of our lives thinking that this is it. Stand up. Make a difference. 2nd image the preppy look. The polo shirt, dress pants and the dress shoes. Workin a 9-5 and makin a difference in life. Whats wrong with this image, how many black men are living this life? Its time for us to make change and let the world know that we arel not 2nd rated americans. we are all the same and we are all equal. Its time to change the image of what american see in us as black people and its up to us to make that change.
