Jonathan Perry & Nathan Scott in Capetown South Africa

My boy Jon Perry is in the mother land taking it all in for a great cause. Jonathan Perry, Nathan Scott(www.7magazine.blogspot.com) and others venture off to Capetown South Africa where he has been since Sept 7 and will be there until the 29. Here is his and nathan's reasoning for volunteering and why they are spear heading this. Also please take a look at his photo gallery of his expierence thus far by going to www.justbthat.com/photos and to learn more about the program that allowed him to take part in this great opportunity go to www.justbthat.com/hopeafrica

Our placement will focus on children and helping local social service pioneers achieve their goals and missions. We will have the opportunity to assist health care providers in setting up medical clinics and providing for the basic health care needs of people in an entire community. In addition to the services we can provide our skills and experience allow us to speak on the importance of HIV/AIDS awareness and women’s inspiration in South Africa.

We all have our independent reasons for making this adventure. The one thing our reasons have in common is that none of them are wrong.

Jonathan’s reason:
A major shift of consciousness is taking place; it’s an incredible time right now for me to be in South Africa, and be a part of this change! Being a part of what once was a dream for hero’s like Nelson Mandela’s is nothing short of an honor.

Experiencing what South Africa has to offer means giving and receiving in ways I’ve never been asked or required to give and receive. Am I ready? I’ve been asking myself that question since the beginning my involvement. My answer is a resounding YES!

It’s not always about who is what. In many cases our stories transcend the borders and boundaries we create to make them unique to us. Share your story and you will see, someone endured before you; continue sharing and you will see many more will endure because of you!

Nathan’s reason:
I’ve always heard about Africa, the motherland. I’ve learned about it in grade school and even did reports on it in high school. Africa was always a mystery to me because no one I knew had ever gone there. As an adult I’ve read about apartheid and HIV/AIDS in Africa among other things, my interest was peaked.

Recently, I watched a special Oprah Winfrey presentation about her Leadership Academy in South Africa and decided that I needed to go to experience Africa for myself. I’ve always been told that I was good with children. I’ve volunteered with children numerous times so I’d like to give back once again, hence this trip.

I will be able to give service and leadership to children in Cape Town South Africa.

This voyage is important to because it will give us an opportunity to have another life altering experience and make a difference in the lives of others.

I think everyone once in their life should take a trip to africa and expierence what it has to offer, may it be egypt or south africa.
