A good friend blog about this so i thought i would let u guys read it and let me know what you guys think. so here your official 2008 guide to relationships.A Quick "HOW TO" Guide To Relationships
1. Date: dating is healthy, go ahead and shop around.
2. Choose: After browsing around, if you've found a decent fit. slowly merge away from other prospects and put your main focus on that particular individual that catches your eye.
3. Be Real: you've decided to give this person a large portion of your time and attention. Don't waste time trying to give off an image that isn't who you really are.
4. Integrate: Now that you've kept it real. it's time to merge your social lives. Begin having dinner with each other's friends/family, maybe even co-workers. Know what you're really getting into before you start to claim this person. Because when you're in a relationship with ANYBODY. You're in it with them, their family, close friends, coworkers, even enemies and past lovers. It takes more then just the 2 of you to make it work. A great support system creates a sturdy foundation.
5. Make it official: you've been "talking" to this person for sometime now. they've been introduced to your closest friends and family. You've been introduced to theirs, and it's obvious that the two of you have positive intentions in mind. So why not put a title on your "situation"
6. Nesting: It's time to move in a new place together!! You've been attached at the hip for a minimum of 1 year, maximum of 2. experiencing each other in each month and season. you've spent the night over each other's apartments regularly. You know each other's spending habits, and some of each others quarks. You both realize that the two of you live at BOTH places. Tonight it's your place. 2morrow night it's theirs. Now i mentioned earlier a MAX of 2 years. I say this because you dont want to wait too long before moving in together. This is TRULY the only way you REALLY REALLY REALLY get to know a person. you don't want to spend 5+ years thinking you know someone to move in and realize you never knew them.
7. True commitment: now i'm not going to tell you when to get married. i think after living with someone for sometime. experiencing life fully merged. it'll just happen naturally.
(some people may disagree with me on some of this. but i just want to say that i dont understand how people get married who have never lived with each other for a period of time FIRST! to me that's crazy because you really never KNOW a person until you live with them)
As for the road bumps along the way...TALK! don't disguise problems. It's unhealthy NOT to argue, because problems are secretly tucked away, and simply grow larger. It's also not healthy to argue ALL THE DAMN TIME! because that means your asses aren't solving your problems! The key is to "fight fair" when arguing. Find a solution to your problems....compromise!!!!!!
Washington DC my new home
hey people this is my new home and i am so glad to finally be home. Over the next few days and months i will be covering dc for the new years eve celebrations to start the year and start 09 with a new president preferably hillary clinton as our new democratic president. I will be covering several major events this year. Big presidents day weekend here known as "Casino Royale" if you look to the side there info on that. In April i will be in Philly for the Penn Relays and Philadelphia's Black Pride. Memorial Day Weekend i will be taking part in Daryl Wilson Black Pride festivities this year. June will take me to NYC for New York's Pride. August i will be covering Brooklyn's Pride. And in November i will be heading to Orlando for the Florida Classic Invasion Party: Part 3 which takes place the weekend before Thanksgiving. So 2008 will have me busy as well as covering all these events i will keep you updated on all the goin ons and happenings across the country so sit back relax and enjoy 2008 and all that if will give you.

Wow i am at a lost for words as i sit here at work on my last day at a job that has been so good to me over these last five years. It saddens me to leave but is also a joyous occassion as it is time for me to move on in life and start a new journey for making a difference in people's lives. I have done my part and my job here in south florida. South Florida will always have a place in my heart. I have had good days and bad days here in south florida, but that is life.
I have made a few good friends along the way. First and foremost my best friend of 8 years "Deena Jones of the Dreams" you have always had my back and i know at times i have been a stubborn friend but i have always heard everything you have told me. I thank you for our friendship i will miss you and love you.
Secondly my first love Q you were always there for me and you were my superman when i needed you 2 be Love you always even though your no longer in florida.
William Patrick who i have worked with for the last year io thank you for your friendship. Stay smiling, stay focused and dont let nothin hold you down.
FloridaMochaBoi i thank you for all you did and your words of kindness and being there for me when it got tough you really showed the true meaning of friendship these last 7 years. Willie know thanks for being there in my time of need through the death of my grandfather and being such a great friend to me.

Wow all the internet is a buzz with the accusations coming from former B2K member "Raz B" and "Raz B" brother Ricky is causing former B2K manager Chris Stokes to come out and make a public statement. Can we say we have some DIRTY LAUNDRY being aired out for all the world to hear. Below is the Chris Stokes statement.
“The accusations that Demario “Raz B” Thorton and Ricardo Thorton have made are vehemently false and hold no merit. I have recently stopped financially supporting both individuals along with assisting them with their criminal and legal matters which leads me to believe they are resentful and looking to benefit financially from this. My family is my first priority and the reason why I have been so supportive of them. In bringing these false claims, they have not only slandered me, they have also put me in a position to ensure that the truth is known and I will take all legal routes to protect myself, my family and my four children,” said Chris Stokes, CEO of The Ultimate Group.
“It’s also quite ironic that these statements were made only 2 weeks after they were denied admittance by a venue for an event I hosted in Beverly Hills,” added Stokes.

The press release also mentioned further events in celebration of Thriller's anniversary. This will last throughout 2008 (when Jackson's new album is released) and begins with the release of Jackson`s first single in nearly five years, on January 14, 2008. The single will be a remix of 'The Girl Is Mine' featuring will.i.am. while Paul McCartneys vocals have been removed. There will be "a multi-faceted global marketing campaign" featuring high-profile poster, radio, online adverts as well as 30 second Television adverts that will begin on February 11, 2008.
There are eight bonus tracks with Thriller 25, notably the Special Edition's bonus tracks and previously unreleased Thriller-era song "For All Time"; and was mixed and mastered by Jackson himself. The remaining four bonus tracks are will.i.am remixes, "The Girl Is Mine", "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)", "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" (with Akon), and "Billie Jean" (with Kanye West).[10]
The album also contains both a DVD and booklet. The booklet contains Thriller era photos and a message from Jackson to his fans.The DVD includes four videos. The award winning music videos included are "Thriller", "Beat It" and "Billie Jean". Lastly, there is Jackson's Emmy Award-nominated live performance of "Billie Jean" at Motown 25. The performance is famous as Jackson's first display of the moonwalk.

You know i honestly think somethings should be left alone i am dumbfounded when i hear this news this week. allhiphop.com is reporting that several artists are collabrating on the the 25th edition the "Thiller" The album is certified 27-times platinum and spent 37-weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. Can you honestly hear someone singin "Bille Jean" or Beat It" or You wana be starting Something" i can't see it i grew up with this albumn like most of the 80s baby and i loved me some Michael but this should not happen. MIAMI - Today CLIK HONORS INC.,and CLIK Magazine (CLIK), the Nation's leading magazine for Black same gender loving people announced that the second annual 2008 Clik Honors Awards will be held at The Hyatt Regency in Miami, Florida, Thursday May 22nd, 2008
"Hosting the event in Miami in May just makes a lot of sense", says Dwight Powell, event organizer and founder. Mr. Powell continued, "Thanksgiving weekend in Atlanta was a bit challenging for us because so many people that may have wanted to attend the event had to choose between spending time with family or attending the awards". Further, Mr. Powell shared that capitalizing on the huge crowd that will already be in Miami, the superb weather, and a long holiday weekend were also among the various factors that prompted the shift down South at the start of the Summer months.
Clik Honors is produced by Clik Magazine. The Organization celebrates and recognizes individuals, businesses, and organizations who through their everyday lives, talents, causes, and campaigns, have paved the way for the enhancement of Black Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender (BGLBT) communities locally and nationwide.
Clik Honors, first held November 25th, 2006 was the first of its kind for the Black gay community and was deemed a huge success by community and opinion leaders. Under one roof, The Clik Honors was able to bring together actors, authors, activists, politicians, film directors and produces, musicians, promoters and other professionals all in one place, all at the same time celebrating Black gay achievements.

BluePrint in theaters in 2008
I think 2008 will be the year for black gay cinema. You have the movies FindingMe, Noah's Arc, and now BluePrint all making there theater debuts. I got the opportunnity to see "BluePrint" at the film festival in ATL for Black Gay Print this year and i must say this was really a great movie and a must see. The two set out on a motorcycle road trip out of the city and into the woods, where their romance is enabled and complicated by some pot smoking, a nude swim, yet more arguments and at least one surprise arrival. With sublime, fresh storytelling and supremely drawn young African-American characters, Blueprint establishes Shannon-Butts as a talent to watch.
